Please be sure to advise the interested students of the following:
- Each application is scored with weighted consideration given to completeness, quality of responses and overall appearance. Points will be applied or deducted accordingly.
- All parts of the application must be completed, and all requested documents submitted by the deadline. Incomplete and late applications will not be considered.
- The essay is a critical part of the application consideration. The directions must be followed exactly with respect to subject matter, length, grammatical correctness and spacing.
- Letter of recommendation must be specific to this scholarship and not a generic referral.
- The photograph should be a quality image. If the scholarship is awarded, the photograph will be used in printed publications.
- And, if the student is invited for an interview as part of the Youth Achiever application process, the student should be advised to dress appropriately for the occasion.
Thank you for your support in this worthwhile endeavor. Please reach out to Gigi Davis at gdavis@ymcanyc.org if you have any questions.
We are looking forward to hearing from your students and considering them as one of our scholars.
